Nydia: The Blind Flower Girl of Pompeii

I drew this from a photo I took at The High Museum in Atlanta of a reproduction of the Randolph Roger’s marble sculpture - Nydia: the Blind Flower Girl of Pompeii. “As the black clouds of ash reigning down from Mount Vesuvius made it almost impossible to see, this blind girl used her hearing to listen for the ocean to navigate the streets of Pompeii and lead a handful of people to safety.” (As told in the 1834 novel, The last Days of Pompeii.)
