Montana Cowboy

I was drawn to his slightly narrowed eye look and stoic expression - a rugged looking individual of intense focus, quiet contemplation and unyielding endurance. Fashionable tv series like Yellowstone and 1923 have certainly helped thrust the American cowboy, a powerful symbol of rugged American masculinity, back into mainstream popularity. Sun, wind, cold and rain…harsh elements deeply etched into a cowboy’s face - that was my inspiration for this piece.
