Veiled Virgin

With every new piece I undertake I look for something about the subject that inspires me. Perhaps it is an expression on a face or a feeling the piece gives you. In this case the inspiration was both her peaceful state as well as a technical challenge - other than the outline around her face, there are practically no hard edges in this piece - just subtle blends moving from shadow to highlight.
